Strains and sprains

Muscle strains and ligament sprains can happen as a result of sporting trauma, or just a trip/fall at any time. Initially, the site of injury should be treated with ice to reduce the inflammation. It's important when undertaking any type of sport to warm up beforehand and warm down including stretching afterwards. Wearing the correct footwear can also reduce your chances of incurring injury too. The severity of the strain/sprain dictates when massage can play a part in recovery.
